Review: House of X | Cyclops Printed Blue Costume

10/10, this suit is AWESOME! The colors came out perfectly, the darks are dark and the lights are vibrant where they need to be. The custom tailoring is also perfect, making it fit comfortably with the details still lining up as they should. I can freely move in any extreme and it doesn't feel like anything is going to pull or rip (a feeling I have experienced in prior suits from other vendors). I'm used to wearing Spider-man suits with foam face shells, so having an open nose and mouth is a MASSIVE increase in comfort level; it's easy to wear the full costume all day long, it doesn't have to be removed when snacking or drinking, there's no sense of claustrophobia, and my glasses won't fog up at all. It's great! This is my first time ordering from MrZentai, so a few things stick out to me compared to other vendors I've used in the past: 1) The turnaround time was SUPER quick! I ordered towards the end of April so I was initially worried that I wouldn't have it for an expo in early June. But this costume was in my hands exactly 1 month after ordering. 2) The built-in shoes have no noticeable heels to them, so it can feel a little weird walking on a slopped surface. I don't consider this a detriment at all because it didn't feel like a tripping hazard, my feet remained super comfortable while walking around a flat convention floor all day, and makes it very easy to put on compared to some other built-in shoes I have on other costumes. 3) I was given the 2-way back zipper, which I don't recall ordering as it costs extra and I'm generally not fond of them due to appearance and mobility. However I did find this particular suit to be far easier to put on solo compared to those other suits, incredibly easy in fact, so perhaps MrZentai is using a better zipper or the tailoring job is just that much better. One thing that doesn't change though is that this type of zipper can noticeably fold out along the sides (whereas I find a single zipper on the spine helps to pull the fabric back keeping it tighter along the sides). Sometimes this folding makes it look like you have wider lat muscles, sometimes it just makes it look like you have a weird bump where there shouldn't be one, and sometimes it isn't present at all. It's just one thing to keep in mind with this type of zipper. One last thing to keep in mind is that (like with ANY lycra suit) the printed fabric can start to develop small white micro-tufts if it rubs against anything else (belts, bracers, etc), so you may want to keep that in mind for this particular version of Cyclops as he can have other accessories (not included with the order) to be worn on top of his costume. These areas will be hidden by those props so its not a big deal, just know costumes like this wont stay 'pristine' once you do start wearing them and adding props. I'm extremely happy with this costume and will definitely be ordering from Mr Zentai again for future suits (I might even order this exact costume again just to have a spare, I love it).
